MBA-518: Sport and Development

This course explores the interconnected concepts of sport development – focused on creating and enhancing sport systems, structures, and participation pathways – and sport for development, which leverages sport as a tool for individual and community growth. Students will examine comparative models of sport development, program design, and evaluation, as well as the role of inter-organizational partnerships in promoting sustainable outcomes. Topics include participation pathways, the design and evaluation of sport systems, and the application of sport to address social, economic, and cultural challenges. By integrating theory and practice, the course prepares students to lead innovative initiatives that use sport as a platform for global development and positive social impact.
