This course focuses on the application of predictive analytics methods to support complex business decisions. Building on foundational statistical and analytical methods, the course emphasizes model selection, development, interpretation, validation, and diagnostic assessment of predictive models. Rather than focusing on tool execution alone, this course focuses on the use of predictive models under complex and uncertain business environments. The course covers a broad range of predictive methods commonly used in business analytics, including linear and logistic regression, multivariate predictive methods, the use of clustering within a predictive framework, and time-series forecasting. This course also examines approaches to identifying sources of bias, variance, overfitting, and other risks associated with generalizing predictive outcomes for decision-making.
